THE ANSWER

What Clips does.

What is Dawnwood Clips? Clips is an AI clip maker: it turns a long video people talk in into short vertical clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. It transcribes the speech, has a model pick self-contained moments that open on a line that grabs, cuts each one on whole sentences, scores it 0–100, and burns in captions timed word by word.

It was built for short drama, where a clip that gives away the ending or stops mid-line loses the viewer, and it works the same way on interviews, podcasts and explainers.

HOW IT WORKS

Upload, review, keep, post.

01 · SOURCE
Upload or pick episodes
An MP4 or MOV up to 60 minutes, or up to 12 finished episodes of a series you made on Dawnwood. Landscape becomes 9:16 with a blurred fill.
02 · PICK
Moments, not seconds
The transcript is read line by line. Each clip opens on a spoken hook and ends right after a strong beat, snapped to a shot change.
03 · REVIEW
Keep, trim, retitle
Move a start or end by one line, change the title or caption style, or set your own cover. Every re-render is free.
04 · POST
Download or schedule
Download the MP4s, or send the clips you kept to Publishing to schedule them across your accounts.
A finished Clips job: a timeline shows where each clip sits in the three source episodes, and a list ranks six clips by score with their opening line and why each was picked.
A finished job from three episodes of The Alpha’s Bought Bride: where each clip comes from, its opening line, why it was picked, and its score. The top four start as Kept.
THE DETAILS

Everything a clip needs before it posts.

Pop captions

Big captions a few words at a time, timed from a transcript of the clip itself. Switch to plain or none per clip.

An end card that sends viewers on

Your line (“Watch the full series”) and your link on the last seconds of every clip. Leave the link empty for no card.

A cover that isn’t a blur

Each clip gets a cover frame from the clean source, before captions are burned in, or upload your own JPG or PNG.

Spoiler check for series

On episodes of your own series, a clip that gives away the ending is flagged and left out of the default picks.

Cut on the line

Start and end move one line of dialogue at a time, so a clip never starts mid-word. Up to two minutes per clip.

Agents can run it

Over MCP your agent uploads a video, starts a job, edits clips and sends them on. See For agents.

One clip open in the review drawer: the vertical preview, its opening line, why it was picked, its score and spoiler status, and buttons to move the start or end by one line.
Open a clip to see why it was picked, then move its start or end one line at a time. Changing the cut or captions re-renders the clip for free.
PRICING

Pay for the source, not the clips.

1 cr per source minute
Clips costs 1 cr per source minute (3 cr minimum), charged once the video is ready and its length is known. A 38-minute podcast is 38 cr however many clips it yields. Edits and re-renders are free. If not one clip comes out, every credit goes back. Credits come with every plan, and new accounts start with 500.
QUESTIONS

Before you upload.

What kind of video works?
Any video people talk in: short-drama episodes, interviews, podcasts, talking-head explainers, webinars. Clips reads the speech, so a video with no dialogue (b-roll, music only) is refunded with a note instead of producing clips. English works best; other languages are in beta.
How long can the source be?
Upload an MP4 or MOV up to 1 GB and 60 minutes. From a series you made on Dawnwood, pick up to 12 finished episodes per job and they are joined in order. Landscape video is turned into 9:16 with a blurred fill behind the picture.
How many clips do I get, and how long are they?
Choose a length band (15–30 s, 20–50 s or 30–60 s). An upload yields about one candidate per three minutes of source, between 6 and 16. Each clip starts and ends on a full line of dialogue, snapped to a shot change where there is one, so nothing stops mid-sentence.
How are clips scored?
Every candidate gets a 0–100 score from a judge that looks for conflict, reveals and suspense, combined with structural checks such as how fast the first line lands. For a series, clips that would give away the ending are flagged as spoilers and are not kept by default. The top picks start as Kept; you change that with one click.
What are pop captions?
Big, bold captions that appear a few words at a time, timed word by word from a transcript of the clip itself, so they stay on the speech. You can switch any clip to plain captions or none, and re-rendering is free.
What does it cost?
1 cr per source minute (3 cr minimum), charged once the source is ready and its length is known. Edits and re-renders are free, and if not a single clip comes out you get every credit back.
Can I post the clips straight to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook?
Download each clip as an MP4, or send the ones you kept to Publishing, where they are scheduled across your connected accounts with a cover for each platform.

Your next clip is already in the video.

Upload one and see what Clips picks. You pay by the source minute, and if nothing comes out you pay nothing.
