THE ANSWER

What AI drama dubbing is.

What is AI drama dubbing? AI drama dubbing turns a finished short-drama episode into another language without recasting: each line is translated, every actor is re-voiced in a voice cloned from their own performance, and the new audio is lip-synced to the picture and mixed over the original music and effects.

Dawnwood Dubbing does this for whole seasons. Pick a series and a language, choose the episodes, and each one comes back with every character in the same voice from episode 1 to the finale, subtitles in the new language and a separate SRT file, at 80 credits per episode per language. Series made in Dawnwood are translated from their scripts; finished episodes made anywhere else are uploaded, transcribed and dubbed in voices cloned from the footage.

TWO WAYS IN, ONE PLACE TO RUN IT

Made here, or made anywhere.

MADE IN DAWNWOOD
Translated from the script, not from the audio
The episode's lines, speakers and character names are already known, so nothing is guessed from the soundtrack. Each character gets a voice in the new language matched to their original voice, and that voice stays the same in every episode of the season. Order from Operations → Languages, or from an episode's Review page.
MADE ANYWHERE
Upload finished episodes
MP4 or MOV, up to 5 minutes and 500 MB per file. The tool separates dialogue from music, transcribes it and works out who is speaking; you confirm the speakers before anything is dubbed. Four steps, below.
UPLOADED EPISODES · HOW IT WORKS

Upload, check, pick, download.

01 · UPLOAD
Add your episodes
MP4 or MOV, up to 5 minutes and 500 MB per file. The source language is detected for you.
02 · CHECK
Check the speakers
We detect who’s talking and play you a sample of each voice. If a line is credited to the wrong person, you fix it in a click.
03 · PICK
Pick languages and options
Choose one or more of 16 target languages, then lip-sync, burned-in subtitles, and whether to cover the original subtitles.
04 · DOWNLOAD
Download MP4 + SRT
Each language arrives as its own dubbed MP4 with a matching SRT file, ready to upload to the channel for that market.
WORK BY THE SEASON

Every series, every language, one view.

Operations → Languages shows each of your series against each language, what is done, what is producing and what is missing. Select episodes by language and order them in one go.

Charged per episode
Each episode is charged when it starts. If one fails, its credits go back automatically; the rest of the batch carries on.
PUBLISH
Post to that market
Each language version sits next to the original master, ready to publish to the account for that language or hand to a partner.
BUILT FOR SEASONS

Made for 40 episodes, not one clip.

VOICE CONSISTENCY
The same voice in episode 1 and episode 40
A project holds one drama. Speakers are kept across every episode you add, new episodes are matched to them, and you confirm the matches before anything is dubbed.
BURNED-IN SUBTITLES
Cover the original subtitles
If an uploaded episode already has subtitles in the picture, the tool can blur a band at the bottom of the frame before the new ones go on. It hides the old text; it does not restore what was under it.
DUB-ONLY DELIVERY
No subtitles in the picture, if you want
Some platforms want a clean dubbed master and a separate subtitle file. Turn off burned-in subtitles and you get exactly that; the SRT always comes with it.
WHO IT'S FOR

Anyone with a season to take abroad.

STUDIOS & CREATORS
Open a second market without a second cast
Dub the episodes that already work in English into Spanish or Portuguese, publish them on accounts for that market, and keep going only where viewers respond.
DISTRIBUTORS & LICENSEES
Localize the titles you hold rights to
Apps and channels that license dramas from several producers can dub them themselves, on their own schedule, instead of waiting on a dubbing vendor per title.
CATALOG OWNERS
Re-release a finished library
A completed 50-episode season into one more language is 4,000 credits at one unit per episode. Upload it once; add languages whenever the numbers say so.
LANGUAGES

Sixteen target languages, plus English.

Uploaded episodes in another language can also be dubbed into English. The source language is detected automatically, and a series is never offered its own language.

PRICING

Priced by the episode, like the seasons you sell.

80 cr per episode per language
One unit = 80 credits. A series made in Dawnwood is one unit per episode. An uploaded episode with lip-sync counts one unit per 80 seconds of lip-synced dialogue, rounded up: most 1–2 minute vertical-drama episodes are one unit, dialogue-heavy ones two or more, and you see the count before you pay. Without lip-sync every episode is one unit.
New accounts get 500 credits once at signup. Failed episodes are refunded automatically to the pool they came from. Plans and credit packs are on the pricing page.
Example: 10 episodes into one language = 800 credits · a 50-episode season = 4,000 credits, at one unit each.

HOW IT COMPARES

A season tool, not a clip translator.

General video-translation tools are built for one video at a time. Short-drama localization is a season of 20 to 80 episodes that has to sound like the same cast throughout. Based on each product's public pages as of October 2026.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they dub a season.

What is the cheapest way to dub a short-drama season into Spanish?
On Dawnwood a language version costs 80 credits per episode, so a 10-episode test is 800 credits and a 50-episode season is 4,000 credits at one unit per episode. Credits come from a plan or from packs, and new accounts get 500 credits once at signup. There is no per-minute charge.
Can I translate a short drama into Portuguese and keep the actors' original voices?
Yes. On Dawnwood, upload the episode and pick Brazilian Portuguese: each speaker is dubbed in a voice cloned from their own lines in the footage, then lip-synced. If someone speaks too little for a clone (under about two seconds of clean speech), a stand-in voice of the same gender is used and marked as a stand-in.
Will each character keep the same voice in every episode?
Yes. For series made in Dawnwood, each character has one voice per language, matched to their original voice and used in every episode. For uploaded episodes, a project holds one drama: the speakers found in each new episode are matched to the ones already in the project, and you confirm the matches before anything is dubbed.
Can I dub a drama that was not made in Dawnwood?
Yes. Upload finished episodes as MP4 or MOV, up to 5 minutes and 500 MB each. Dawnwood separates dialogue from music, transcribes it, finds the speakers and clones their voices from the footage. You confirm that you own the video or are licensed to translate it and to use the performers' voices.
I license dramas from other producers. Can I dub them myself?
Yes, if your licence includes the right to make dubbed versions and to use the performers' voices for them. Dawnwood does not check or clear those rights for you. The dubbed files belong to you.
What is the difference between dubbing a series made in Dawnwood and an uploaded one?
A series made in Dawnwood is translated from its script, so lines, speakers and names are known exactly and nothing is inferred from the soundtrack. An uploaded episode is transcribed first and you check who is speaking. Both are lip-synced and priced per episode per language.
How do I dub many episodes at once, and what if one fails?
In Dawnwood, open Operations, then Content, then Languages, choose a series, and select the episodes and language you want. The total is shown before you confirm. Each episode is charged when it starts; if one fails, its unused credits go back automatically to the pool they came from and the rest of the batch carries on. If an upload fails after lip-sync has started, the lip-sync already spent is kept at cost.
What if my episode is long or very dialogue-heavy?
Uploaded files can be up to 5 minutes and 500 MB. With lip-sync on, an uploaded episode counts one unit (80 credits) for every 80 seconds of lip-synced dialogue, rounded up, so a dialogue-heavy episode can be two or more units; the count is shown before you pay. With lip-sync off, every episode is one unit. Longer files have to be split into episodes first.
Does the dubbing lip-sync scenes with two people on screen?
Yes. Active-speaker detection picks the face that is talking in each shot. If lip-sync fails on a shot, that shot keeps the original mouth movement, the episode is marked as partial, and the credits for that part are refunded.
My drama has burned-in Chinese subtitles. Will the new subtitles overlap them?
For uploaded episodes, turn on Cover original subtitles and Dawnwood blurs a band at the bottom of the frame before the new subtitles are burned in. It hides the old text; it does not restore the picture underneath it.
What do I get for each dubbed episode?
A dubbed MP4 with subtitles in the new language burned in, and a separate SRT file. For uploads you can turn burned subtitles off to get a clean dubbed master; the SRT always comes with it.
Which languages can a short drama be dubbed into?
Sixteen target languages: Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Romanian, Hindi, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish and Russian. Uploaded episodes in another language can also be dubbed into English. The source language is detected automatically.
Is Dawnwood an alternative to ElevenLabs Dubbing or HeyGen?
For short-drama seasons, yes. Those are general tools that work one video at a time. Dawnwood is built around a season: one voice per character across all episodes, lip-sync, batch ordering by episode and language, and script-based translation for series made in Dawnwood.
Who owns the dubbed version, and what happens to the voice clones?
You own the dubbed files; Dawnwood claims no rights in them. Voices are cloned only for your job and deleted when it finishes. Uploads and results stay private in your account until you delete them, and uploads are not used to train models.
